Take a break from the Texas heat and join us for Animated Children’s Short Films from Around the World. The Lone Star Film Society and the Amon Carter Museum present this free film series designed to inspire both children and children at heart, through a myriad of animation styles that bring these stories to life. Through vivid imagery and poignant storytelling, these films unite global undertones of family values and help build an appreciation of art in all its forms. From Asian folktales to Spanish family adventures, these films promise to bring smiles and a sense of wonder to everyone.
Films that will be shown include: Lost and Found, The Happy Duckling, Beatless Nick, Reach, Snow Day, Abridged, The Girl Who Cried Flowers, La Lune, Alex and the Ghosts, Murphy’s Shorts, Un Duelo, and El Salon Mexico.
These films are recommended for children 3 and above. And adults of all ages!
Films are provided by KIDS FIRST!, a program of the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media, a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1991 whose mission is to teach children critical viewing skills and to increase the visibility and availability of quality children’s media. Their goal is to empower children to make wise media choices and to promote quality media products that enrich their lives.
